three eggs

This is the best bit… having my awesome clients share their brand new websites with the world! As promised I am going to bring you a selection of some of the great websites that people are producing in the Website Launchpad course and this group have been super stars!

Here are the first 3 from the group with a short interview about their websites and you are going to be inspired, impressed and moved by their passions and experiences. Please visit their websites, support them in their endeavours, download their awesome free digital products and follow their progress as they take on the world one blog at a time.

AndreaBreast Cancer Nirvana

What inspired your website and who is it for?

During my breast cancer treatment, I needed to update a lot of people on what was happening.  I thought a blog was the best way to do this as I like writing and I didn’t have to repeat information over and over.

Then I had an inspiration that I could gather all the breast cancer support information and put it in one place as there are plenty of support organisations and websites but the information is scattered. Then I read an article about Serena and the rest is history.

The site is aimed for those going through breast cancer and those who are supporting them.

What has been the highlight in setting everything up?

I have learned a lot about design and websites, and it is a really creative endeavour.  I love working on my site as it’s a combination of writing, creativity plus helping others.  It has also been great getting to see everyone’s websites; they are inspiring.

Have there been any surprises?

That I could have a website so soon.  I have had lots of positive feedback on the site too.

What advice would you give to other people who are considering getting started?

Give it a whirl.

TraceyLife Changing Year

What inspired your website and who is it for?

I was inspired to create a website to keep family and friends updated while we are away travelling for all of 2012.   We are completely mad so we thought all our entertaining stories could be online as they happen.  Nothing worse for those left behind than a year of photos and stories when we get home!!  Although now I wonder if it can’t also become a place for others thinking of taking kids travelling to find all the info they need.

What has been the highlight in setting everything up?

The highlight for me so far was the first comments left on the site!  Very exciting to know people are reading the posts!  Also now when we Google ourselves there are lots of listings!  Kind of like being famous!!

Have there been any surprises?

I’ve been surprised how easy it was to set up a Facebook page and also how others put your page details on their walls without you even asking!!  It’s amazing to see the message spread so quickly!!

What advice would you give to other people who are considering getting started?

Anyone thinking of getting started shouldn’t wait another minute!!  Dive in, get started and give it 100% effort to get the results you want!!

Jan – The Artling

What inspired your website, and who is it for?

I am a visual artist and I wanted my site to be about my current passion and endeavours.  I am really interested in sketching and painting people in their everyday lives.  My website is for others who want to sketch their own everyday lives, be they beginners or long time artists.

What has been the highlight in setting everything up?

That would definitely be seeing my website ‘up’ and looking soooo good!  As it is just a ‘new baby’ it is going to keep looking better and better for quite a while now due to the template I chose.  My sketches will soon fill the rest of the blank spaces and it will be dripping with colour and life!

Have there been any surprises?

The biggest surprise was how easy it was to actually get it up.  I’m not saying it was super quick or obvious, but once I worked my way through the steps I was amazed that it was that straight forward.

What advice would you give to other people who are considering getting started?

Definitely do Serena’s Website Launchpad course.  I have been meaning to build The Artling for ages, planning to do it, thinking about doing it and saying I was going to do it.  Now I’ve done it!  And in so much less time than I thought it would take.  I would also advise others to get specific about their niche.  I was a little fuzzy on mine to start with but once I contained my ideas into a distinct area the process of creating content became easier.

If you like it, please share it!

      • Hi Serena, Since having bought your book, followed your advice in the emails and on your site, I have entered a period of fog and confusion. There is so much to know. Still, even though it’s all a bit hit and miss, I wouldnt have it any other way, except for having every step exactly spelled out. But I suppose that’s not really what I want either.
Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for the blessing of your presence.
        Paul [the confused].

        • Serena Star Leonard says:

          Hey Paul!
What you are feeling is normal, there is always more to learn! I wish I could say that you will reach a point when you know everything about the internet, but it never comes!! Just keep learning every day, keep talking to other website owners and pick a new thing to figure out every week or month and you will start to feel more familiar with it over time. Basically… stick with it!

  5. Thanks so much for promoting all of our sites Serena. I’ve had a great time interracting with all the others on this course and I love, love, love working on my site and writing new posts!! So glad I purchased your book and found you just a few short months ago!
