Pre-launch diary… Counting Down

10 days to go and nothing like leaving everything to the last minute!
From now I will write posts designed for the public and post them on the blog as I go. Actually I just decided to post up everything I have written so far as Pre-launch diary entries because well I have nothing to hide really, so everything before the launch will be classified as that.
The blog is now functional which is thrilling! This is what I have used so far:
- WordPress.org for the blog
- Evolution Theme 1 (in green) by Blogging Tips
- Twitter Feed – which you get in the Goodies section in Twitter
- The graphs I made in word (then pasted into paint to make a .jpeg)
- Mailchimp form for email subscription and list (I LOVE mailchimp!)
- RSS to bookmarks
I decided to keep it with “How to Retire in 12 Months” and I bought the domain www.retireyoung.com.au which I was very happy to see available.
The only costs I have had so far is the domain name ($43 for 2 years) everything else was free from the web. I estimate that if I didn’t have my gorgeous brother Daniel to help, I would have paid about $600-$800 for someones time to set up the blog.
I still don’t entirely understand the options for RSS but it can develop as I go. I heard from Sean Torstensson (my friend and graphic designer) that he may have the design ready for my coaching website ready today or tomorrow. It may be possible that I have 2 blogs and a new site up all in a couple of weeks, which rocks! I just hope I can keep up with the content and blogs needed.
Well it is so cool to see the posts up today, this is really starting to look like a blog now and I have been getting butterflies at different times during the day about the whole project.

Next things to discover are video blog, feedburner, tag words, hosting and to get some help in the formatting… at present I am using white full stops to hold spaces!
The count down is on… So far the posts here have been about setting up this blog and project, once 12/12 hits I will be telling all about the business that will have me retire.
Ciao for now,
-Serena xx
