I have some questions for you!
Dear reader!
In case you hadn’t noticed I have been on holiday. What this means for me is 2 weeks of relaxation and a new perspective. But what does this mean for my readers, who are so kindly subscribed to these blogs? Do people notice when my blog doesn’t come through? I hadn’t really thought about it until today when I have been reading an e-book by John Chow who’s blog is massively read and very successful.
He says “Post frequency is so important that many big blogs will hire guest bloggers to take over posting duties when the main blogger goes on vacation. Remember the key is to be consistent in the frequency of your blog posts.”
So I have a couple of questions for you, my wonderful subscribers – consumers!
1. Do you think it matters if I take a blog break in a personal challenge blog such as this, or should I pre-write blogs to post while I am away?
2. Do you think my blogs should come through to your inbox as soon as I post them or are you happy with the (almost) weekly round up that comes through?
I haven’t been sure if you would mind getting 2 emails a week sometimes, so rather than guess I thought I should probably just ask you!
What do you think? In fact what do you think of the whole style so far? Please add your feedback and opinions below and in return I will post another video blog… hee hee!!
Ciao xx

You are in luck, another holiday vlog coming this week!

Hi Serena,
I only signed up for your blog a month or so ago (heard about it on Happyzine) and just the other day I actually thought ‘oh, I haven’t heard from her in a while – maybe I’ve dropped off somehow). But I’m happy for randomness and definitely believe in holidays so I don’t think things have to be too regular. One blog I’m signed up for, the author just posts that’s she’s going away and not to expect anything for a bit – so that is another way to do it.
Best wishes
Tess

Hey Tess! Ah yes the lovely happyzine… Yes I think I will just be more proactive about letting people know in advance, just makes things easier which means I can maintain my randomness as well! xx

I think consistency is important and pre-writing a good idea. For a value add website service it is important that it is constantly available, hence, this is more important for your grassroots website than for this blog where you share your personal journey as well as lessons learned with the outside world.
I like the ‘personal’ touch and think it is very good that you demonstrate life-work balance to us! a rest is a rest is a rest.

Thanks for the comments Ulrike, I agree, it is important on the Grassroots site as it is more of a technical site and business offering. Haha I intend to keep up the work/life example!
