How to Retire in 12 Months

It is 10:30am. I am lying across my bed in my dressing gown, and I am buzzing! The warm spring air is heavy with moisture, and a slight breeze through my open window brings the call of birds and the smell of fresh cut grass. Just as I begin to write, a weed eater starts up near my window, spilling petrol fumes and noise pollution; the bliss is gone but the buzz remains… I have an idea!

After 4 years cutting my teeth in business, I have formed a cunning plan… I am going to retire!

I had the final stroke of clarity last Thursday morning, after 2 weeks background conversation cluttering my head. I started listening to a meditation CD again the previous day, maybe that was the calm I needed to fuel the creative process. Who knows! Either way the idea came to me. After a day of rolling it around on my tongue I threw it excitedly at John (my husband) in a busy Hungarian restaurant.

How to Retire in 12 Months (working title).

The premise is that I Serena, within 12 months, will create a low maintenance income of $2000 a week; that I get great advice from 3 amazing coaches/mentors and that I blog the whole process in case other people want to do the same.

John loves it! He said that it is the best idea he has heard from me and he is stoked to be there at the genesis of it. 10 points! That is all the encouragement I need, I am off!

The next day we had our radio show and in my normal prep conversation with Bill Ranken (who does the Society Spy segment) I tested the waters to see if he would help me with the PR. Even in our brief conversation setting up the meeting he thinks the concept is good and we meet this week to work on the plan. Another 10 points!

Things are starting to roll, I can tell by my slight uneasiness to share with people the concept that I am already emotionally attached. Ah well, I can work on that later! Life is good! So if Thursday was day 0 then this is day 5, no launch date as yet, but it is coming soon, I can just smell it.
