Annette Sym on Health, Success and her Life Changing Weight Loss

Annette Sym

Well this is week 2 in the 52 weeks of passion, in case you missed the details; I am interviewing people who have had a Good Life Crisis, people who have decided to choose how they will live their lives and are following their passions as a result.

It is not about the richest people or the most successful people, it is about real people who are living lives they have designed.

This week we took some time to interview Annette Sym on her dramatic life change through health…

Where did it all begin?

My Good Life Crisis was back in 1989, after a day at the beach with some friends and family. A friend had taken a photo of me in my swimsuit and when I later saw the photo I was devastated: the photo showed every bit of my 100 kilos. It had been a really nice day at the beach, but now all I could see was a very obese woman who was (more…)

Introducing 52 weeks of passion…

I am inspired by ordinary people who do something extraordinary for themselves or their community. This is not about who makes the most money, or gets the most media attention, it is about people who have found a purpose and who are out there doing something about it.

So, I am very pleased to bring you… 52 Weeks of Passion! For 52 weeks I will bring you a collection of interviews with people from all over the world that will inspire and delight you with their adventures, challenges, visions, attitudes and lifestyle.

The premise is simple; I have chosen people who have had a “Good Life Crisis”, they have chosen to do what they love for a living. They may have risked everything, found “flow” or made the most of a lucky break. Either way, they will share with us their passions, lifestyle and some tips on how you can do it too.

First up is Renee Wallace… I hope you enjoy!

Renee and her husband were a happy couple working hard for government departments, shift working, not seeing each other… sound familiar? Their Good Life Crisis saw them throw in the city lifestyle, with life changing results… (more…)

When I first heard the term Lifestyle Design a new set of synapses spontaneously appeared in my brain that sent a shiver down my spine… I would like some of that!

Lifestyle Design is the art of creating a lifestyle to suit your wants and needs. It is all about choices; it is all about YOU choosing how YOU want to live. This may revolve around your preferences – I want to live in a warm climate, around your needs – I need to spend time with my small children or around your interests – I want to spend my time feeding the hungry.

If you are interested in really living your life in a way that you designed it, there are some essential things you need… (more…)

12 months is at an end, everything else is just beginning…

Today is THE day, the grand finale, the day that I have been working towards. On December 12 2009 I posted my first video blog sharing the plan for this project. I was excited (and nervous) and didn’t know what to expect.

I have had a total change of perspective however in the last few weeks having experienced (more…)

Failure Is A Step On The Path To Success

I have had this conversation with a few people lately, and so I thought it timely to make a blog. I believe that if you have a big goal or plan that certain failures will happen along the way and that accepting the fact will make you more resilient.

I am not sure if I got the message across in this video, but you can be the judge of that!

I would love to hear about the failures that taught you the most… share them below!

Mel came to Sydney on Thursday. It is only the second time we have caught up and it was good to have a proper conversation and also to introduce her to Tess. We reviewed ideas over Japanese food and wine and (more…)
