Ulrike Schuermann – Childrens Promise

www.childrenspromise.org

Who is your website aimed at?

Everyone and anyone in Australia with a heart for children and young people… particularly those who are doing it tough for whatever reason.  We would like to see every Australian child and young person reaching their full potential regardless of circumstance.

Why did you choose this topic?

In my many years working in social investment in became evident that what is needed most is a steady, reliable source of income to allow organisations to grow and reach more people with programmes that work. We often refer to Australia as the ‘lucky country’ and in many ways and for the majority of people it is – BUT there are also those who fall between the cracks and we haven’t done very well in offering them our support. For a country with as many resources and opportunities as ours there are too many gaps in service delivery that let children and young people who require support down.  Children’s Promise aims to generate badly needed income to help bring effective programmes to scale.

What can people expect?

When you give one hour of your annual income to Children’s Promise online you are subscribed on our database and will receive regular updates about children’s issues generally and our activities particularly, in line with our other social media updates.

Johana Te Momo – Momo Girl

www.momogirl.co.nz

Who is your website aimed at?

Up and coming new designers who are looking for guidance on:

  • how to start out
  • get a job in the industry
  • or start their own business

It is a website for people who love fashion.

Why did you choose this topic?

My first career choice was fashion; I’ve wanted to be a fashion designer since I was 10.  I studied textile and fashion design, and excelled, winning Dupont Student Lycra Awards in Exercise wear in 1989. After following a few job options that didn’t turn out, I gave up on my passion very easily.

If I knew at the time, how hard it was going to be to get into the industry, I would have made the most of the opportunity while I had it. So I chose this topic to share my experience, and inspire new designers to follow their passion.

What can people expect if they subscribe?

They can expect fun, light fashion blogs that are easy to follow. They give advice on following your passion for fashion, following trends and hopefully inspire.

Christine Harrigan – Radiant Health

www.radianthealth.com.au

Who is your website aimed at?

Radiant Health Australia is aimed at people that are interested in preventing and treating health problems. Perfect for people who are interested in their general health or have tried everything for a specific illness and feel that they are not getting better.

Why did you choose this topic?

I had a few health issues myself over the years and was just not getting any better. I went everywhere and tried just about everything and spent a lot of money but I couldn’t find out what the problem or cause was. It can be hard to live with chronic illness and I was at the end of my tether.  After much research I came across the concept of the build-up of toxicity from the air we breathe, water, our food, personal care products which could be affecting our health gradually. Over the last few years I have been on a personal journey to eliminate many of the chemicals and heavy metals that we are exposed to with great results, I wanted to share that with others who are suffering as well.

What can people expect if they subscribe?

Subscribers can expect useful information about some things we don’t often associate with chronic health issues as well things they we already know about diet and exercise. In addition thoughts and comments by practitioners who specialize in the field of toxicity and how it affects our health dramatically.

Sober Paddy

www.soberpaddy.com

Who is your website aimed at?

My website is aimed at people who drink, people who don’t drink, people who’d like to stop drinking and people who think they should drink more!

Why did you choose this topic?

I chose this topic because when I turned thirty I really struggled with drinking – it became pretty obvious I had a problem and this was a great way of keeping myself in check, while telling others of the struggles and laughs I have along the way.

What can people expect if they subscribe?

People can expect to get a blog every week or ten days which will hopefully cause a few smiles, tears or tuts. They also get a free eBook when they sign up!

If you like it, please share it!
